The eighth prince of Dongyue, Mo Lian Cheng, is compelled to wed Qu Tan Er despite the fact that Qu Tan Er was already in love with Mo Yi Huai, Mo Lian Cheng's senior brother. Qu Tan Er makes an unsuccessful attempt at suicide one day because she doesn't want to wed Mo Lian Cheng. She awoke one day to discover that she was now two people in one body, each with their own personality and set of behaviors. They would trade bodies each time one of them lied. Their souls are different, despite the similarity of their outward appearance. Mo Lian Cheng is puzzled by Qu Tan Er's sporadic differences but eventually develops feelings for Xiao Tan, who is not.
